Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Doodle Jam (the “App”), including its iMessage extension and SharePlay features. By downloading, purchasing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Doodle Jam is licensed, not sold. These Terms supplement the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (“Apple Standard EULA”). Where the Apple Standard EULA applies or requires different terms, it controls to that extent.

1. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must approve your use of the App, its sharing features, and any purchase.

2. License to Use the App

Subject to these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to use Doodle Jam on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the applicable App Store Usage Rules.

You may not copy, redistribute, rent, lease, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, modify, bypass feature or purchase restrictions, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent a restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

3. Creative Work and Your Content

As between you and us, you retain your rights in the drawings, recordings, brushes, and other creative works you make with Doodle Jam. Subject to the rights of others and applicable law, you may use and export your original creations for personal or commercial purposes.

You are responsible for photos, text, emoji, brush images, brush packages, and other material you import, create, send, or share. You must have the necessary rights and permissions and must not use the App to create, store, transmit, or share content that is unlawful, infringing, abusive, harmful, or violates another person’s rights.

The App itself—including its code, interface, branding, built-in brush designs, presets, icons, and supplied assets—remains owned by us or our licensors. Your right to use exported artwork does not transfer ownership of the App or permit extraction or resale of supplied assets as a competing product or asset library.

4. iMessage Drawings

The iMessage extension lets you create, send, reopen, and continue Doodle Jam drawings. You control the recipients. Anyone who receives or is later given access to a Doodle Jam message may be able to view or continue the drawing, so send content only to people you trust.

Small editable drawings may travel inside the iMessage payload. Larger drawings are encrypted on your device and stored in CloudKit, while the reference and decryption key travel in the iMessage. Cloud-hosted drawing payloads are configured for approximately 30 days of availability. After that, the preview may still appear in Messages, but the editable drawing may be unavailable. We do not guarantee permanent message storage, delivery, compatibility, or recovery.

5. SharePlay Collaboration

SharePlay allows participants in an eligible Apple group session to edit a shared canvas in real time. Changes made by a participant can alter the canvas for everyone in that session. You are responsible for deciding whom to collaborate with and for saving or exporting any result you want to keep.

SharePlay availability and performance depend on supported devices, system versions, network conditions, FaceTime or other eligible session context, and Apple’s services. We do not guarantee that all changes will arrive without delay or that every participant will retain an identical copy after a session ends.

6. Free and Pro Features

Doodle Jam may provide free functionality and optional Doodle Jam Pro functionality, including additional brushes, custom emoji or character brushes, advanced symmetry modes, process recording, and other creative tools described in the App. Available features may change as the App evolves, subject to applicable law and App Store rules.

7. One-Time Pro Purchase

Doodle Jam may offer Pro as a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. The exact price, included benefits, and applicable taxes are shown on the purchase screen and Apple’s confirmation sheet before you purchase.

A “lifetime” or “permanent” unlock means access to the Pro features associated with that product for the supported lifetime of Doodle Jam. It does not guarantee that every future product, separate app, unrelated service, or indefinitely available App Store listing will be included.

An eligible purchase can be restored on devices using the same Apple Account through the App’s “Restore Purchases” function, subject to Apple’s rules.

8. Billing and Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. We do not control payment authorization, billing, tax collection, purchase restoration, or refund decisions and cannot issue App Store refunds directly. To request a refund or resolve a billing issue, use Apple’s purchase-support process. Statutory refund and consumer rights available in your country or region are not limited by these Terms.

9. Imports, Exports, and Third-Party Destinations

You may import photos and compatible Doodle Jam brush files, and you may export or share PNG images and video-only MP4 recordings through Apple’s system share sheet. You choose the source and destination and are responsible for reviewing their terms and privacy practices.

Files may contain creative content or embedded image resources. Inspect files from unknown sources before importing or sharing them. A receiving app or service may alter, recompress, flatten transparency, remove metadata, or otherwise change exported media.

Export resolution, video duration and frame rate, color rendering, transparency, and file compatibility depend on device hardware, available storage, operating-system support, and receiving software. We do not guarantee that every format or feature will be available or preserved by every device or destination.

10. App Availability, Data, and Updates

We may improve, update, replace, suspend, or discontinue features or the App. Some updates may be required for continued compatibility, security, collaboration, or App Store distribution. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every device or future operating-system version, or indefinite availability of the App Store listing, CloudKit payloads, iMessage continuation, or SharePlay.

Doodle Jam primarily stores work locally. Device loss, deletion, storage pressure, software failure, an incompatible update, or removal of the App may result in lost work. You are responsible for exporting or otherwise backing up important creations.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Doodle Jam is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that locally stored or shared work cannot be lost.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, creative work, messages, revenue, profits, or business opportunities arising from your use of or inability to use Doodle Jam.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights. Additional allocation-of-liability terms in the Apple Standard EULA also apply.

13. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. Your license terminates automatically if you materially violate these Terms. On termination, you must stop using and delete the App, but provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability—will remain in effect. Purchase and refund matters remain governed by Apple and applicable law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Doodle Jam, App Store requirements, or applicable law. We will post revised Terms on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
