GuitarHub

Terms of Service

Last updated: October 3, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of GuitarHub for Android (the “App”), distributed through Google Play. By downloading, purchasing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

GuitarHub is licensed, not sold. Your use of the App is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service, which govern your purchase and download of the App through Google Play.

1. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must approve your use of the App and any purchase.

2. License to Use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to use GuitarHub on Android devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Google Play Terms of Service.

You may not copy, redistribute, rent, lease, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, modify, bypass feature or purchase restrictions, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent such a restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

3. Your Songs and Musical Work

As between you and us, you retain your rights in the songs, chord progressions, phrases, and other musical work you create with GuitarHub. Chord progressions, voicings, and scales are common musical building blocks, and we do not claim ownership of your compositions. You may use your original work for personal or commercial purposes, subject to the rights of others and applicable law.

You are responsible for any material you enter into the App, including song titles, lyrics, or notes, and for having the necessary rights to it.

The App itself—including its code, interface, branding, chord and fingering data, scale charts, accompaniment presets and styles, sound samples, machine-learning models, icons, and other supplied assets—remains owned by us or our licensors. You may not extract, record for redistribution, or resell the App’s built-in sounds, presets, or data as a standalone library or competing product.

4. Chord Suggestions and Musical Accuracy

GuitarHub generates chord suggestions, progressions, fingerings, and accompaniment automatically using music-theory rules and an on-device model. These outputs are provided as creative aids and learning tools. They may not always suit your style, tuning, or instrument, and we do not guarantee that any suggestion is correct, original, or free of similarity to existing works. You are responsible for how you use the results.

5. Free and Pro Features

GuitarHub provides free functionality—including chord and scale reference, themes, and a limited number of saved songs—and optional Pro functionality (“GuitarHub Pro”), such as progression writing and chord suggestions, guitar jam sessions and saved phrases, unlimited saved songs, and the complete set of scale, chord, key, and CAGED charts. Available features may change as the App evolves. Songs you have already saved remain yours and stay accessible on your device if your Pro access ends. Changes will not remove an active entitlement in a manner prohibited by applicable law or Google Play policies.

6. Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

GuitarHub offers monthly and annual auto-renewable subscriptions. The exact price, billing period, included benefits, and any introductory offer are shown on the purchase screen and Google Play purchase dialog before you purchase.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions, or from the “Manage subscription” option in the App. Subscription benefits remain available until the end of the paid period.

7. Lifetime Purchase

GuitarHub offers a one-time “Lifetime Pro” purchase. It provides access to the Pro features associated with that product for the supported lifetime of GuitarHub; it is not a guarantee that every future product, separate app, or unrelated service will be included.

Eligible purchases can be restored on Android devices signed in to the same Google Account through the App’s “Restore purchases” function, subject to Google Play’s rules. Restoring purchases restores Pro access only; it does not transfer songs or other content between devices.

8. Billing, Cancellations, and Refunds

All purchases are processed by Google Play. We do not control payment authorization, billing, cancellation, or refund decisions and cannot issue Google Play refunds directly. To request a refund or resolve a billing issue, follow Google Play’s refund process at support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637. Statutory refund and consumer rights available in your country or region are not limited by these Terms.

9. Your Data and Backups

Your songs and settings are stored locally on your device and are not synced to our servers. We are not able to recover content that is lost because the App was deleted, the device was reset or lost, or local storage became unavailable. We recommend keeping device backups if your work is important to you.

10. App Availability and Updates

We may improve, update, replace, suspend, or discontinue features or the App. Some updates may be required for continued compatibility, security, or Google Play distribution. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every device or future operating-system version, or indefinite availability of the Google Play listing.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GuitarHub is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that chord, fingering, or scale information will be accurate for every tuning or instrument, or that locally stored work cannot be lost.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, musical work, revenue, profits, or business opportunities arising from your use of or inability to use GuitarHub.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.

13. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. Your license terminates automatically if you materially violate these Terms. On termination, you must stop using and delete the App, but provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability—will remain in effect. Subscription cancellation and refunds remain governed by Google Play and applicable law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to GuitarHub, Google Play requirements, or applicable law. We will post revised Terms on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
