Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how KaleidoPen (the “App”, “we”, or “us”) handles information when you use the App. KaleidoPen is a creative drawing, symmetry, animation, and media-export tool for Apple devices.
Privacy at a glance: KaleidoPen does not require an account, does not operate an account or content server, and does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. Your drawings, selected photos, presets, and settings are processed and stored locally on your device unless you choose to export or share them.
1. Information Processed by the App
KaleidoPen processes the following information on your device to provide its features:
- Creative content: strokes, colors, brushes, symmetry and path settings, imported photos, image-fill layers, canvas backgrounds, saved creations, and generated thumbnails.
- Preferences: theme, language, guide and disc styles, sound, haptic, recording, export, brush, color, and symmetry settings.
- Generated media: images, GIFs, MP4 videos, and MOV videos, including transparent-background media where supported.
- Purchase status: product and entitlement information returned by Apple’s StoreKit framework so the App can unlock purchased features.
This information is used only to operate the App. We do not receive your locally stored creative content or preferences.
2. Photos and Photo Library Access
When you choose a photo for a fill or background, Apple’s system photo picker lets you select the specific item you want to use. KaleidoPen receives and processes only the item you select. The selected image is processed locally and may be stored as part of your local artwork.
When you ask KaleidoPen to save an image, GIF, or video to Photos, the App requests add-only Photo Library permission. KaleidoPen does not scan or upload your photo library. Photos stored in or retrieved from iCloud Photos are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
3. Audio and Recording
KaleidoPen can include the App’s own background music and sound effects in a screen recording. The App does not request microphone access and does not record your voice or ambient audio. Recorded video frames and audio are encoded locally on your device.
4. Local Storage and Deletion
Your creations and preferences remain in the App’s local storage until you delete them, reset the relevant setting, delete the App, or erase the device. Media that you save to Photos, Files, or another app is controlled by that destination and must be deleted there separately.
5. Purchases and Subscriptions
KaleidoPen offers monthly and annual auto-renewable subscriptions and may offer a one-time lifetime purchase or other non-consumable purchases. All billing, payment credentials, refunds, subscription management, and purchase history are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your card number or full payment details.
The App receives limited transaction information from Apple, such as product identifier, entitlement status, and verified transaction status, solely to provide, restore, and manage access to purchased features. Apple’s handling of payment and App Store information is governed by Apple’s policies.
6. Information You Choose to Share
If you export or share a creation, the destination you choose—such as Photos, Files, Messages, social media, or another app—processes that media under its own privacy policy. KaleidoPen does not automatically upload or publish your work.
If you contact us by email, we receive the email address, message, attachments, and other information you choose to provide. We use it to answer your request, provide support, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
7. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
KaleidoPen does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, does not create advertising profiles, and does not track you across apps or websites. We do not sell personal information.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is designed so that creative work can be used without creating an account or submitting personal information to us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to our support address, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
9. Security
We design KaleidoPen to minimize data collection and keep creative processing on-device. No method of storage is completely secure, so you should protect access to your device and maintain backups of important exported work.
10. Your Choices
- You can decline Photo Library access and continue using drawing features that do not require saving to Photos.
- You can remove creations inside the App and remove exported media from the destination where you saved it.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings and restore eligible purchases through the App.
- You can contact us to ask about support information you previously sent by email.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, legal requirements, or our practices. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
